Installation

Thank you for purchasing a RAISS intake system. If you purchased a complete RAISS intake including the throttle body boot and filter this is what you receive in the box. Notice in this picture that the rubber molding has already been attached to the RAISS. It is not shipped this way so that damage does not happen to the molding in transit.

  1. Remove the stock plastic radiator hold down piece (4 bolts using a 10mm wrench) make sure to keep the two rubber blocks from the bottom of that piece.

  2. Remove factory or aftermarket intake system up to the throttle body. Picture on left shows what the engine should look like at this time The removal will include disconnecting the MAF sensor and possibly the tube from the air pump. If you still have your air pump you will need to purchase K&N part #07-62-1030 to attach directly to the air pump.

  3. Drill two holes in the supplied throttle body boot. (1) 1/2" hole on the left side of the throttle body and (1) 13/64 on the right side. (Left and right as the small end is towards you)

  4. The throttle body boot and now be attached to the throttle body. Remove the factory IAC sensor and small vacuum tube from factory boot and install into the two holes you have made. Attach the MAF sensor to the throttle body boot. Use the harness you purchased to attach from the MAF to the factory harness. I suggest turning the MAF with the connector on the bottom.

  5. Install the rubber blocks from the bottom of the factory radiator hold down onto the bottom of the RAISS intake as shown on the left. Also attach the supplied black rubber molding to the top of the RAISS intake at this time.

  6. This is how the rubber block should look as you're bolting down the RAISS.

  7. This is how the RAISS looks completely bolted down using the factory bolts and with the rubber molding attached to the top. Notice the MAF is behind the RAISS with the connector on the bottom. At this time you should also remove the rubber seal from the bottom of the hood that sealed to the core support. If you do not remove the seal you will not get cold air from the outside.

In case you decided you wanted to do either Corvette throttle body boot or 3.5" MAF this is how the RAISS would look.
